When I met her first in 2011, Akhuwat was consolidating and had disbursed loans worth US $10 million. After 7 years this amount has reached to US $700 million, a 70 times increase! “I am overawed but not surprised”. She remarked, “I know people of Pakistan are compassionate and you bank on their compassion and generosity… This is most incredible feat and Akhuwat is most unique social enterprise of our times”, she concluded.
